Mid-City & City Park

Activities that may or may not include drinking but don’t necessarily have to or activities to in between eating and drinking and seeing music...

1.

NOMA: New Orleans Museum of Art. Awe-inspiring gallery. A fantastic selection of modern art mixed with old African art and decor. The sculpture garden next door is free, quick, and magnificent. I was also impressed with their collection of rural Southern paintings.

2.

Walk: Another great place to walk as you should for most of New Orleans, just remember a raincoat or umbrella wherever you go because you never know when the city will decide to pour.

3.

Paddle boat in the lake: There is a quaint lake with paddleboats to rent right by the museum. A fun activity if you are in the mood.

4.

City Park: Miles of terrain to explore. There is a golf course, lakes, lagoons, rivers, fields for festivals, baseball diamonds, the museum and more. I personally have explored very little of it.

5.

Bike and Beer Tour Along Bayou St. JohnSomething that was on my bucket list that I never go to do. There is a bike path along a river in Mid-City that stretches all the way across the park towards Lake Pontchartrain. There are several breweries in the area. I’ve always wanted to combine the two activities but never got around to doing so. I encourage you to.
